In Curitiba two members of the group have been captured – one of them is the leader and mentor of the group, the other one was in charge of laundering the money. The leader’s mother, who, according to the police, also had tasks in the group, was detained in Maringá (PR). In Florianópolis, a man laundering money was also arrested. Nine other members were also arrested near the western border of Rio Grande Do Sul - three men in Santana do Livramento and six women in Quarai. Other 16 persons of the organization were also detained in the city of Porto Alegre and nearby…

The Operation Nerd II, as it was nicknamed by the prosecutor of Porto Alegre, was divided in simultaneous actions carried out by four teams, with members of the Public prosecution service and the Civil Police.
The Public prosecution service calculated that the group has stolen more than R$ 10 million from bank accounts (over US$ 5 millions), they also seized all the goods belonging to the group.

The Public Prosecutor, Ricardo Herbstrith, responsible for the operation, informed that in Curitiba a “computer island” was seized, two devices for cloning banking cards, various blank magnetic cards, laptops, money, an apartament top floor and two cars.
