yahoo2Zone-h has been notified that several domains owned by Yahoo were defaced earlier today.

The site http://biz.yahoo.com/  was still defaced as of 12pm July 30 GMT -8. The servers in question were running the FreeBSD, generally regarded as quite secure, so we have to wonder if the attack leveraged a configuration error or a flaw in a 3rd party application as in fact was anonymously reported by the attackers.

Other systems on the Yahoo domain were also compromised running the FreeBSD operating system, these include http://biz22.finance.dcn.yahoo.com, http://biz26.finance.dcn.yahoo.com, which also remained in a state of defacement as of this writing.

Zone-h has mirrors of the defacements:  biz.yahoo.com and biz22.finance.dcn.yahoo.com

Attackers appear recently to favor custom CMS applications and appears to have happened on MSN and NASA sites
